Göteborg Landvetter Airport highly commended in Eco-Innovation Award

Swedavia’s Göteborg Landvetter Airport has been named a highly commended airport in the Eco-Innovation Award category by the industry organisation Airports Council International Europe (ACI), which ranks the leading European airports in environmental and climate work.

Norwegian continues to expand at Stockholm Arlanda Airport by launching a new direct route to Skellefteå Airport, starting on 28 October. Skellefteå is a part of the rapidly developing business climate focused on sustainability that is emerging in the northern parts of Sweden, a development which increase the demand for extended connectivity to the region.

Swedavia strengthens its collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières

Swedavia is expanding its collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) through an extended agreement and forty new collection bins for deposit bottles and cans located at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The collaboration aims to promote social sustainability and support MSF's humanitarian efforts globally. The new initiative is expected to increase both visibility and financial contributions.

On Thursday June 13th, Air Canada was welcomed at Stockholm Arlanda Airport with an inauguration ceremony attended by H.E. Jason LaTorre, Ambassador of Canada to Sweden, Mr. Jonas Abrahamsson, CEO Swedavia, and MD, International Sales, Mr. Rocky Lo, Air Canada. Operating direct routes to Toronto and Montreal five times a week, Air Canada will be an important addition to Stockholm Arlanda.

Airport Director: Important to know before your summer trip

The most travel-intensive period of the year is here. A large number of passengers are expected to pass through Stockholm Arlanda Airport during June, July and August, and the airport offers a total of 17 new scheduled routes during the summer season. "I would like to wish everyone a warm welcome to Arlanda this summer," says Arlanda's Airport Director Karl Eklund.

Swedavia’s traffic statistics for May 2024: International travel within Europe continues to be prioritised despite the macroeconomic situation, while domestic air travel continues to see weaker growth

During May, more than 3 million passengers flew via one of Swedavia's ten airports. This represents an increase of 2 per cent compared to May of last year. Despite macroeconomic headwinds, international traffic increased by 6 percent and was driven by increased international travel within Europe.

Swedavia’s traffic statistics for April 2024

In April, more than 2.6 million passengers chose to fly via Swedavia's ten airports. This represents an increase of almost 1,5 per cent compared with April of last year. This trend continues to be driven by increased demand for international travel, primarily from Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
