Press release -
Stockholm Arlanda welcomes Pontus in the Air
The star chef, restaurateur and businessman Pontus Frithiof’s new restaurant, Pontus in the Air, is now opening in Terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Along with the high quality of food and beverages and fast service, passengers will be able to place an order on their way to the airport via an app and then quickly and conveniently pick up the food to take on board their flight.
Pontus in the Air is now opening its doors one level up in Terminal 5 at Arlanda after the security checkpoint. The new venture involves a food concept consisting of three parts in order to give passengers a broad range of options and the chance to make their choice based on prices and depending on how much time they have before their departure.
Brasserie is a classic bistro with full service that seats up to 100 guests. At breakfast, four menus are available, while during the rest of the day, there are seven starters, nine main courses and six desserts to choose from. Fast service guarantees a maximum wait of 12 minutes. Market offers a food market-style venue in an industrial setting with seating for up to 150. Guests here choose from a large selection of dishes and pay at the counter. Various breakfast options are offered in the morning, and after that Scandinavian dishes such as salmon and other seafood are served. The third section, Take Off, offers a selection of food and beverages for take-away service.
- Pontus in the Air is a really exciting project that is unlike anything else at Stockholm Arlanda today. We would like passengers in the future to always choose to start their trip with us with breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink in the bars. It is our aim and hope to be the best airport restaurant in Europe, says Pontus Frithiof.
- We are very pleased and proud to now welcome Pontus in the Air to Stockholm Arlanda. With Pontus’s knowledge and experience, we will be able to offer our passengers a food experience of the highest quality and with great personality. The different food concepts will appeal to our passengers, both Swedish and international, who have different food preferences and different amounts of time to spend at Stockholm Arlanda, says Niklas Sundberg, Head of Food & Beverage, Commercial Services at Swedavia.
To maximise speed and convenience, passengers will be able to order food and beverages for take-away using an app. Free Wi-Fi and charging stations for mobile phones and computers are also available to passengers along with screens providing information about gates, boarding and departure times.
