Stockholm Arlanda welcomes Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines is ranked as one of the world's best airlines. From May 30th 2017, the airline will start operating their route between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Changi Airport in Singapore. It will then be the fastest route to Singapore from Stockholm.
Singapore has been one of the most desired destinations from Arlanda for a long time, both in terms of business and leisure travel. To increase connectivity to the important markets in Asia from Sweden, a route to Changi Airport's Asian hub is very important for business travelers. And via Changi Airport, leisure travelers can easy reach beyond Changi into Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand through the Singapore network.
The new route is the fastest way to travel to Singapore from Stockholm. Including a short stop in Moscow, the route has the fastest total travel time from Stockholm compared to stop overs in Helsinki or Copenhagen. In comparison, the new route between Stockholm and Singapore is about 45 minutes faster than flying through Copenhagen.
- This new route to Singapore is the result of several years of intensive work and it is a highly demanded destination. Especially within the Swedish business world as the route gives easier access to the important markets in Asia. The large number of destinations easy accessible from Changi Airport will also benefit all leisure travelers going beyond Singapore, said Karl Wistrand, CEO of Swedavia.
Singapore Airlines is the first airline in Stockholm Arlanda flying with a brand new Airbus 350-900, which is environmentally one of the world's most modern aircraft, it is built of lightweight materials, quiet and fuel efficient.
The route will be operated five times weekly with departures from Stockholm Arlanda to Changi Airport, via Moscow. The early arrival time in Changi, at 06:15 local time, means access to the connecting flights.
