Swedavia has decided to open another terminal at Stockholm Arlanda Airport starting October 26. In addition to Terminal 5, Terminal 2 is now also being placed in operation. The decision was made as a result of increased air travel and investments in operations at Arlanda by a number of airlines during the autumn.
In the past week some very good and important news about improved connectivity to and from Sweden have been announced out of Swedavia’s airports, as Sweden has started its post-Covid-19 pandemic recovery. For the first time in 17 months travelers to and from Sweden will benefit from a non-stop long-haul service to the US.
For many years Swedavia has been involved in and driven the transition to fossil-free aviation. Swedavia is now taking part in study on electric air route between regional airports Umeå Airport and Åre Östersund Airport.
The aviation market is still dominated by the pandemic but at the same time shows new signs of a recovery, with the number of passengers in June reaching the highest level for a single month since March 2020.
