Swedavia AB (publ) considers hybrid bond issue

Swedavia AB (publ) is assessing market conditions for issuing new Swedish kronor-denominated hybrid capital. The aim of the transaction is to provide the best possible financial flexibility in the execution of Swedavia’s strategy and mission, whilst securing Swedavia’s capital structure objectives.

Nordea and Swedbank have been appointed as financial advisors and are Joint Lead Managers for the proposed hybrid bond loan.

On November 8, 2021, at 12:00 CET, an investor meeting will be held for the proposed transaction.

Subject to market conditions, the capital is expected to be a SEK-denominated perpetual non-call 5-year hybrid bond that is subordinate to Swedavia’s outstanding senior bonds. The hybrid bond may be issued in both floating and fixed formats with a benchmark-sized bond issue.

Swedavia’s work continues with Airport City Göteborg, currently taking shape at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, with Swedavia now selling the last building rights available in Logistics Park 1. Swedavia’s traffic statistics for September 2021

In September, more than 1.4 million passengers flew via Swedavia’s ten airports, a decrease of 61 per cent compared to September 2019, before the Covid pandemic. In September, the recovery in air travel stalled somewhat, but the easing of restrictions in Sweden and in many other countries at the end of the month now paves the way for increased travel.

Swedavia’s Q3 2021 report: Positive cash flow thanks to increased travel and good cost control

During the third quarter, traffic at Swedavia’s airports increased as countries have opened up and travel restrictions have been eased. Net revenue totalled 793 million Swedish kronor, more than 70 per cent higher compared to a year ago, and cash flow from operating activities, excluding State aid, was positive for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
