Brand new range of food, drink and shopping options inaugurated at Göteborg Landvetter Airport
Established, respected brands coexist side by side with exciting new concepts. On Tuesday 26 March, Landvetter's brand new range of food, drink and shopping options was inaugurated with much fanfare.
Over the past six months, Göteborg Landvetter commercial offering has undergone a top to bottom renovation and renewal to better meet the expectations of our passengers. The completed renovation was celebrated with speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and festivities on the inauguration day on 26 March. In attendance were Airport Director Anna Strömwall, Björn Olsson − CEO of Scandinavian Service Partner AB (SSP), which operates five of the airport's newly established restaurants − andnot least, all the passengers who passed through the airport during the day of the inauguration.
“It feels wonderful to be here today to celebrate this milestone with our partners and passengers. We have a brand new commercial offering and a brand new, significantly improved, passenger experience, which has been developed here at Göteborg Landvetter over the past six months, where we have listened to our passengers and brought in variety in terms of the range of shopping, food and drink, and the price tag. There should be something for all tastes and all budgets. The feedback from our passengers has been very positive – many have said that is incredibly nice here, with all the new shops and restaurants," says Anna Strömwall, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
Since last autumn, already established units such as Göteborg Duty Free, Pocket Shop and Eton have been joined by WHSmith, InMotion and Sweshop to name a few. The new businesses offer a wide range of kiosk fare, from hot dogs and sandwiches, to snacks and drinks, a large assortment of electronics for the journey and a first-class range of souvenirs and gifts to meet our passengers' demand for unique local gifts to take home to family and friends.
The most striking change at the airport, however, is the growing range of restaurants, where established, respected brands like Joe & The Juice and Espresso House have re-emerged in new concepts and in new spaces alongside Bastard Burgers, PONG Sushi & Poké, Italian gem Barino, Bistro & Bar, C/C Cornelius Coffee and FIKA – the latter four of which have been developed in-house for Swedavia's airports by SSP and offer everything from high-quality coffee and traditional Swedish fika to a laid-back restaurant experience with the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer in a pleasant bar environment. In addition, the popular burger restaurant Max is renovating its space in the departure hall according to the chain's new concept, which is expected to open in late spring.
“In our work to change and improve our commercial offering, we have listened to what the passengers have been asking for, such as being able to sit down and eat, but also that there should be a grab and go option to take with you on your journey. Our goal is to make shopping, food and drink part of the passenger experience. There should be a wide range of restaurants to suit many different needs and a variety of product ranges, price categories and brands. A stronger commercial offering is not only important for the passenger experience – it also helps us maintain competitive airport charges and, in the long run, improved connectivity both within Sweden and from western Sweden to the rest of the world," says Charlotte Ljunggren, director of marketing and commercial development at Swedavia.
“This is an incredibly important day for us at SSP and a milestone for the big changes we have created here at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. Together with Swedavia, we have managed to create an entirely new range of food selection at the airport with something that suits all passengers and wallets. This has been achieved through an entirely new mix of external and proprietary brands, which create a nice oasis for meetings and comfort. Food and beverage are a natural part of a journey and with today’s opening celebrations, we are convinced that we have created a very positive experience for passengers,” says Björn Olsson, CEO for Scandinavian Service Partner AB (SSP).Here are the newly opened units at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. (In addition to these, 7-Eleven, Aera Airport Fashion, Eton, Göteborg Duty Free, Pocket Shop and Pressbyrån have been open for some time.)
