Bromma Stockholm Airport wins international customer experience award
The international airport operators trade organisation, Airports Council International (ACI), publishes an annual ranking of airports around the world that provide the best customer experience to passengers - according to the passengers themselves. Swedavia’s Bromma Stockholm Airport is one of the airports that have now won.
This year ACI has awarded 140 prizes to 84 airports around the world, amongst which Bromma Stockholm Airport has been awarded the top prize in the category “Most Improved in Europe 2019”.
Mona Glans, airport director at Bromma Stockholm Airport, emphasises that the ACI’s award is a direct result of Swedavia’s efforts to modernise airport facilities and improve customer experience in recent years.
“Naturally we are proud and pleased that our work to improve the customer experience is appreciated by our passengers and that the airport has now been honoured with this award. This is the result of great effort and teamwork and something the whole airport has contributed to,” says Mona Glans, airport director, Bromma Stockholm Airport.
Part of the modernisation and customer experience improvements efforts are five new gates, a new arrival hall which was inaugurated in 2018, a renovated security checkpoint for more efficient flows and an overall refurbishment of airport facilities.
In 2019, Bromma Stockholm Airport had some 2.4 million passengers, nearly 2 million of them domestic passengers.
Airports Council International is an international organisation consisting of members that own and operate airports. Swedavia is also a member.
For many years, Swedavia has carried out ambitious sustainability work. All ten of its airports will have zero emissions of fossil carbon dioxide from their own operations by the end of 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the industry’s transition to bio fuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used to refuel aircraft at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025.Since 2016, Swedavia purchases bio jet fuel equivalent to the amount used for the company’s flights for business purposes, about 450 tonnes of fuel a year.
