Eurowings to expand at Stockholm Arlanda with new direct route to Innsbruck during the winter season

The Lufthansa Group’s low-cost carrier Eurowings continues to have strong confidence in the Swedish market’s desire for travel and is expanding its operations with non-stop service from its new base at Stockholm Arlanda during the winter. The airline will meet demand from Swedish ski enthusiasts and launch a route to the Austrian Tyrol region.

Eurowings continues its expansion in Sweden and at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. In conjunction with its summer 2022 programme, the airline opened a new base and launched nearly 20 European routes, which complement Arlanda’s other destinations on offer.

In conjunction with its winter programme, Eurowings is now adding another direct route to Innsbruck, often referred to as the capital of the Alps, with its proximity to nine different ski systems such as St Anton and Ischgl in Austria, Cortina and the Dolomites in Italy, and St Moritz in Switzerland.

In all, the German carrier is offering a total of twelve destinations this winter from Stockholm Arlanda. Eurowings is the only operator with scheduled service on this route.

Between January 14 and March 25, Eurowings will serve the Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Innsbruck Airport (INN) route with weekly departures on Saturdays.

Swedavia offers all travellers flying from one of its airports the option of buying biofuel for their entire journey or parts of it via flygreenfund.se/swedavia.

Ryanair to expand further at Stockholm Arlanda – will launch 13 new winter routes

Ryanair has announced its biggest ever Swedish winter offering as it continues to strengthen its presence in the Swedish market. The Irish low-cost carrier will launch thirteen new direct routes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport this winter. Six of them are all new routes, half of which are brand-new European destinations. Altogether, the airline has launched 44 new direct routes from its new base.

Swedavia’s traffic statistics for August 2022

The recovery in aviation continued in August, and for the third straight month the number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports was nearly 2,9 million. August was dominated by continued seasonal demand for international travel, but also by increased demand for domestic travel in conjunction with the start of school and work.

Swedavia’s traffic statistics for September 2022

The recovery in aviation continued in September, and for the fourth straight month the number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports was nearly 3 million. It also means that passenger volume was 77 per cent compared to the same month in 2019, which is the highest figure since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic.
