easyJet to expand in Sweden and invest further at Göteborg Landvetter - launching new direct route to Mallorca this summer

The British low cost carrier easyJet sees more opportunities in the Swedish market and is returning to Göteborg Landvetter Airport after a pause with a new connection to Palma de Mallorca.

After a pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, easyJet is returning to Göteborg Landvetter Airport with new non-stop service to Palma de Mallorca during the summer and through the autumn. easyJet previously flew to Berlin, and the carrier plans to resume this service in late summer. Along with the new route from Göteborg Landvetter, easyJet at the same time will launch new direct service to Malaga and to Palma de Mallorca from Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

“We welcome easyJet back to Landvetter and are of course really pleased about the increased access, which will be important for the restart after the pandemic for all of Sweden. The fact that the airline dares to expand and invest after these difficult times is a clear indication of the strong position of the Swedish market. Mallorca is one of the most popular destinations for Swedes both for holidays and to visit loved ones, and we know that many people cannot wait to travel and meet,” says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia Airports.

“The pace of vaccinations and travel restrictions are critical to the recovery both in Sweden and the rest of the world, and we look forward to the situation allowing our passengers to prepare to travel again,” concludes Elizabeth Axtelius.

“We know our customers can’t wait to explore Europe, escape to the sun, or be reunited with friends and family so we have added a new route to Palma de Mallorca to further strengthen our offer from Göteborg, already connecting to Berlin, and providing customers with even more choice,” says William Vet, Country Manager at easyJet.

“We continue to have some of the most flexible policies currently in place so customers can book with confidence and change their plans if they need to, making travel as easy as possible this summer and autumn.” notes William Vet.

Starting July 21 and until late October, easyJet will serve the Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) – Palma De Mallorca Airport (PMI) route twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Other operators serve this route.
