Swedavia’s Göteborg Landvetter Airport has been named a highly commended airport in the Eco-Innovation Award category by the industry organisation Airports Council International Europe (ACI), which ranks the leading European airports in environmental and climate work.

In April, more than 2.6 million passengers chose to fly via Swedavia's ten airports. This represents an increase of almost 1,5 per cent compared with April of last year. This trend continues to be driven by increased demand for international travel, primarily from Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

International travel continued to show a positive trend during the month and increased by 5 per cent compared to March of last year, while domestic travel showed a weaker trend as a result of an early Easter this year, which resulted in lower demand for domestic travel.

International travel, mainly at Stockholm Arlanda but also at Göteborg Landvetter, continued to drive the trend, but demand weakened somewhat. The slowdown in domestic travel continued and was around 65 per cent of domestic travel compared to before the pandemic.
Ahead of the summer of 2024 Ryanair is expanding at two of Swedavias airports and will be operating Dubrovnik from Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Sarajevo from Göteborg Landvetter Airport. The new routes will be served twice a week from each airport receptively starting in April and will be welcomed additions to the existing routes offered by Ryanair.
Ahead of the summer of 2024 Norwegian is launching another new direct route from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, this time to the popular city of Dubrovnik in Croatia. The addition of the new route means that Norwegian will start in total five new routes from Gothenburg Landvetter next spring. In October, demand for air travel continued to show resilience, and a total of 2.9 million passengers flew through Swedavia's ten airports, an increase of 6 per cent compared to October last year. The autumn holiday season got off to a strong start at the end of the month and demand continues to be higher for international travel within Europe.
Swedavia reported improved operating income for the third quarter compared with the corresponding period of 2022. This was thanks to the continued recovery of the aviation market, despite global uncertainty and a weaker economy. Operating income totalled SEK 157 million, which is an increase of 110 per cent. Net revenue was SEK 1,613 million, which is an improvement of 23 per cent.
